Hydrogen is one of the keys to a climate-neutral future. It can be produced with electricity from renewable energies, stored and used immediately or at a later date in a variety of ways in the energy sector, industry and mobility.
North Rhine-Westphalia wants to be a pioneer of a green hydrogen economy and has an excellent starting position for this in many respects. Some of the key location advantages are the high demand in industry, an easily convertible natural gas infrastructure, proximity to important import hubs on the North Sea, strong and innovative plant engineering and excellent research.
In order to accelerate the ramp-up of the hydrogen economy, the Hydrogen Office H2.NRW is the central point of contact for questions and support relating to hydrogen in North Rhine-Westphalia. It is aimed at all players in the hydrogen economy, for example companies, local authorities, infrastructure operators, mobility providers and hydrogen producers.
In cooperation with the Ministry of of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Action and Energy in North Rhine-Westphalia, the H2.NRW experts from NRW.Energy4Climate support stakeholders in their search for suitable funding opportunities, in initiating projects and in networking and transferring knowledge.
H2.NRW also provides information on new developments, projects, events and initiatives. In addition, practical examples, publications and background information are made available to facilitate the implementation of own projects.
